Plated Landscapes are large artworks engaged in an exploration of the two- dimensional space. The wall’s background is painted and directional lines are drawn to mark directions and to put in evidence the geometry behind the composition. Sculptural shapes are plated in metallic finishes that are either mirror polished to reflect the viewer or matte to draw attention to the shape itself. Each one of these Landscapes tell a different story open to multiple interpretations by the spectator that is looking at them.

C.S"Whispers of Nature" is a solo show by Carolina Sardi, that presents a captivating collection of sculptures that delve into the profound connection between humanity and the natural world."Whispers of Nature" serves as a poignant reminder of humanity's interconnectedness with the natural world, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the beauty and significance of our environment. Sardi's wall installations and sculptures act as vessels, carrying the echoes of nature's voice and inviting viewers to reconnect with the earth's rhythms, showcasing Sardi's remarkable ability to transform metal into poetic expressions of the natural world. Through intricate designs and thoughtful composition, Sardi allows visitors to contemplate the delicate equilibrium between the elements, offering a visual dialogue on the harmony and symbiosis found in nature. Despite the finiteness of the material, Sardi's sculptural elements capture the feelings found in the wild, permitting the public to pause and immerse themselves in moments of quiet reflection. Through her artistry, she transcends the boundaries of materiality, infusing her creations with a sense of life, movement, and spirit. The pieces chosen are part of a selection of works from the last 21 years of her practice ( 21 pieces / 21 years).Carolina Sardi is an Argentinean sculptor who was established in Miami in 1995. She earned her Master's in Sculpture at the National University of La Plata, Argentina. At the same university, she also studied architecture and urbanism, and she studied sculpture with the artist Enio Iommi.Some of her solo exhibitions include Pan American Art Projects Gallery in Miami and Dallas; Lelia Mordoch Gallery in Paris; Cheryl Hazan Gallery in New York; Steps Gallery in London, UK; Heriard Cimino Gallery in New Orleans; “Exquisite Tension” at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo, FL; Blue at the Government Center Gallery from Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs; Over/Under at Flashpoint Gallery in Washington DC; Forest at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach, Bee at Mia Gallery, Miami International Airport; Imaginary Lines at the Museum of the Americas in Washington DC and Free to be Captive at the Museum of Art of Fort Lauderdale.
She has broad experience designing, fabricating and installing public, private and corporate art projects. Some examples of commissioned works include Miami-Dade Art in Public Places, Port of Miami, Baggage Claim, Terminals 4 and 5, Water and Suitcase Projects (2003); Oppenheim Architecture, Ilona Buiding Fence and Gate, Miami Beach (2001); Related Group of Florida, Icon Building Miami Beach Lobby’s Sculptures and The Slade Palm Beach Suspended Sculpture (2004-2005); Grand Venetian Miami Beach Lobby’s Wall Sculpture and Epic Hotel Miami Wall Sculpture for the Front Desk (2011); Gates, Fence, Louvers and Lamps for the Apogee Beach Building in Hollywood, FL (2014); Icon Bay Fence for Sculpture Park (2015) in Miami for the Related Group of Florida; Wall Installations for the lobby at the Belfiore Building in Houston, TX ( 2016) and Wall Installations for the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH (2017).
Her work has been exhibited at the international art fairs of Volta NY, Art Miami, Pulse New York, Art LA, Art Shanghai, Art DC, Miart Milan in Italy, Ela Asia Taipei, Diva New York, Scope London, New York and Miami, Bridge Art Fair London and Miami, Arteamericas Miami, Palm Beach Contemporary, Art Santa Fe and Art Brussels.
Sardi’s works are held by private, public and corporate collectors in the United States, Europe, Africa and Latin America. They can be found in the collections of the Art Museum of the Americas and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve in Washington DC, Museum of Art of Fort Lauderdale, Miami Dade Art in Public Places, The Related Group of Florida, Neiman Marcus, Cleveland Clinic and Heico Corporation; among others.

28 Grandfathers, 2023Wall compositions are separated from the surface of the walls with a distance of one or two inches, creating a floating effect in the space that is enhanced by light and shadow. The blank walls become the medium and support for each one of these installations. The free standing and hanging pieces use the void as the main visual element. Space it’s a medium and transparency it’s always an important factor in these pieces. Color, or the absence of it, is used to emphasize the strength of each shape and the placement of the shape in the space.
The concept behind each artwork is as important as the image. The space is as important as the shapes that create the whole composition. Subjects and messages are open to personal interpretations. The interaction with the spectator brings forth multiple ways of reading each composition. -

Free Standing sculptures use line and space as their main visual elements. Space it’s a medium and transparency it’s always an important factor in these pieces. They act as drawings in the space, and they may incorporate volume to create a stronger presence as sculptural objects.

Carolina Sardi
Nesting, 2006Nests are free standing or wall pieces that talk about the void. Steel plates have been pierced leaving exposed holes through which we can see the space and visualize the nothingness or a land of infinite possibilities. The round and oval shapes that were part of these once full plates are gone, and doing so, they create a sense of sorrow for what is left behind.

My Latest Pieces series are wall sculptures where the scale of each element is much larger than in previous series. They explore the space in a more substantial way, imposing a presence by their size and / or monolithic composition.

Associations are about the relationship of one or more elements that gravitate towards each other in space and time intervals. They are interacting with one another and in doing so they exchange information and they bear the traces from the interaction. Organic shapes, lines and space are used to reinforce the idea of freedom of connection between these elements and the way they relate and mirror each other.

Monoprints are all unique pieces where I play with the steel elements that I use in my sculptural work. The blank paper serves as an open field where the inked elements interact with each other and leave their traces and textures in the heavy printmaking paper.
