Join us for a lively discussion on the political art and aesthetics of the work of Sandra Ramos with a tour of her current show, Déjà Vu.

Paying homage to the long history of political satire, Sandra Ramos uses herself as subject and participant to reflect upon the global political climate of her time and place. Join us as art historian Carol Damian, art residency founder and collector Kathryn Mikesell and the artist discuss how to navigate the path of art and politics today.

Panelists:
Carol Damian – retired Professor of Art History in the School of Art and Art History and former Director and Chief Curator of the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University

Kathryn Mikesell – Founder and Executive Director of The Fountainhead Residency and Studios, art collector and art advisor

Sandra Ramos – (b. 1969, Havana) graduate of Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), Havana. Currently lives and works in Miami

Moderated by: Janda Wetherington – Director and Vice President of Pan American Art Projects
