The event will start running online on Live Auctioneers and Invaluable.com on May 11th culminating with the Online Live Auction on Sunday, May 23rd at 2:00 pm [EST]. Bids may be entered at any time (together with secret maximum bids) from May 11 but they will not become final until the Live Auction.

Our auction catalog includes important names of Haitian art masters, such as Philomé and Seneque Obin, Wilson Bigaud, André Pierre; also presented will be contemporary works by Edouard Duval Carrié, Bernard Séjourné, Frantz Zephirin, and several others. Finally, the sale will be complemented by a number of Haitian art books.

The gallery team will be available to help bidders who require assistance in placing their bids.

I have had a long love affair with Haiti: “the Pearl of the Antilles”, its people, its countryside, and in particular its art, which tells a story of its people, its customs, its religions, and its culture. There is no art that is as unique as Haitian art. I have been a collector of Haitian art since the 1960’s and I have over 2000 pieces of Haitian Art.

As a former member of the international board of the “Musee St. Pierre” of Port au Prince I came to know the museum and its collection. Since the earthquake the museum has been in danger: I am pleased to participate in this sale for its benefit.
