Project Room: Gory and Pablo Soria
February 14 – April 19, 2014
We showed Gory’s It is Only Water in a Stranger’s Tear one of his most important works which was also used on the cover of the catalogue for LACMA’s Shifting Tides exhibit. This polyptych of nine pieces shows surreal views of an abandoned pool, conveying feelings of frustration and abandonment.
Pablo Soria’s work dialogues with Gory’s by conveying similar feelings of isolation with his bucolic views of Northern Argentina’s countryside, in which he often portrays solitary houses, trees, or bridges executed flawlessly with long exposures and unique lighting situations.
